Amazon is introducing a new feed system that makes price updates and other processes even more efficient. For you as a seller, nothing changes when using our software—the transition happens in the background, ensuring seamless updates. Nevertheless, we’d like to highlight the differences and benefits for you.
Fast Updates with the patchListingsItem API
One key advantage is the improved use of the patchListingsItem API. Price changes are uploaded to Amazon directly and faster than before, as long as capacities are available. These changes are visible in the system log, as shown in the screenshot below, which logs the number of price updates every ten minutes:
Seamless Integration of the New Feeds
If the API capacity is fully utilized, the system automatically switches to the new feed system. This system not only allows more feeds per hour but also supports larger data volumes per upload—currently up to 10,000 items per feed, and in the future, up to 25,000 items.
Here’s an example of a price upload via feed:
More Feeds for Growing Marketplaces
The new feed system will soon¹ increase the maximum number of feeds per hour from 30 to 60. This is particularly beneficial for sellers with multiple European marketplaces, allowing for more frequent updates.
Clear Display of Uploads
Whether price changes are uploaded via feed or API can be seen directly in the item details. The following screenshot shows a successful upload using the patchListingsItem API:
Beta Phase: Get Preferential Access Now
The new system is currently in the beta phase. Customers are being transitioned gradually. If you’d like to take advantage of the new system early, feel free to contact us for priority onboarding.
Conclusion
For you as a user of our software, nothing changes—you’ll automatically benefit from faster and more efficient price uploads. Thanks to the hybrid system (API and feed), your processes remain smooth even with large data volumes. Contact us if you’d like to be part of the beta phase!
¹ At the moment, Amazon allows “only” 12 feeds per hour, but even this is sufficient for most shops. Thanks to the patchListingsItem API and our robust systems, we’ll transition our large clients with 100k to 1M items—or more than 10 million price changes within 30 days—as soon as Amazon adjusts the limitations.
